We all experience varying levels of stress, tension and trauma every day. The important thing to understand is that your body is amazing in its ability to adapt and respond to those stressors. Have you ever observed a dog barking at the lighting storm and then briefly cowering back and tremoring with each crash. In scenarios like this the dog is being over stimulated and that tremor response is the dogs natural release mechanism, helping to bring things back to a state of balance. You may recall standing up to give a speech and your body beginning to shake. Or perhaps after a car accident, once the adrenaline where’s off, feeling your body begin to tremor. Other common scenarios could be when a mother gives birth, extreme anxiety or panic attacks. These are all situations where the body has been over stimulated and often begins to tremor, immediately or later on, as a result. Tension or Trauma releasing exercises is a simple techniques focused on helping your body to engage that natural tremor release process in a safe, comfortable manor. We’ll begin by going though a simple, gentle set of exercises that are meant to lightly fatigue and warm up the body. If you’ve ever worked out really hard you may remember feeling your body begin to tremor as a result of the intensity. In a more gentle way we are going to use that same muscle fatigue like tremor to help the body engage the natural tremor release mechanism.
